The Solution
Responsive web design ensures that your website looks it's best no matter what device is used.
Try it out below - see how the content rearranges itself depending on which device you are on!
Prior to the mobile revolution, web developers could design websites without needing to consider a vast array of device sizes and differing resolutions. Those days are gone.
In the early days of the mobile revolution, there weren't many internet capable mobile devices, so designers began to devlop different websites for each device. However as more and more internet-capable mobile devices entered the scene, this quickly became unfeasible.
Nowadays, websites need to be able to cater to a large and ever increasing number of devices of different resolutions and aspect ratios - enter responsive web design.

The Web Design Procedure
I like to have an initial face to face meeting with my clients to try and get a feel for their taste, and exactly what they want from their website. I usually take you through some of my past work in order to help inspire you and give you a feel for what is available. A website layout and plan can be put in place in order to help the process run smoothly, although in my experience, designs usually undergo substantial changes over their lifetime (good thing!).
During this time I will develop the website as per the notes taken during our initial meeting. I will host the website during this time and continuously update it so you can see the website develop and let me know of any changes you would like to make. I always keep in close contact with my clients in order to ensure there is no deviation or misunderstanding between us in regards to how the website should look, feel or function. Depending on the scale of the website, this stage can take a week up to several months!
Once the website is functional and the design is completed, I like to have one more meeting with clients. As developers it's difficult to spot parts of the website which may be confusing or unclear for the user (since we made the website and know exactly how it works!). So this final meeting is a great way to ensure that a fresh user can comfortabely navigate the website and find all the information required. Final tweaks are made, and once we are both 100% happy - the website can be launched!
